I am desperate to find a tail bag that can be left on for a while in the stable. Horse on box rest and is clogging his beautiful thick tail up with poo and bedding. Any recommendations??

Tailgator - sensible black, waterproof and they fold up - I have used them for several years now and don't know how I survived without them.

Cairo used to use his as a weapon to whack Stinky with when he was annoyed with him.

Clean the tail, plait - or in my case as the tails are so thick, top and bottom plait, put in the bag and forget for two weeks, then comb out, condition, plait and bag again.

I don't take mine off all winter - they are fine for riding - though if you have a scatty bugger, lunge first to make sure they are ok with the bag on.

A thick pair of tights.... stuff one leg down the other one, and use a tail guard to hold it up. the bit from the top of the legs upwards can be used to tame the tail, or to protect the dock, depending which way round you put it.

Tara wears hers 24/7 in the winter, it is invaluable for a grey hippo

I used the tailgator one all last winter with no problems but she lost it in the field at the start of this winter.

I ordered one of the Ebay ones Cougar posted above as they are cheaper and so far so good!
It's been on about a month with no problems so I would recommend either brand
