My plan was to get some Cowboy Magic from Hope Valley and then try brushing it dry first and wash if I wasn't making progress.

I used a pair of latex gloves (so I wouldn't have slippery hands for the rest of the day) and used a good few large dollops of the Cowboy Magic and ran it through his tail with my fingers. I then used the mane and tail brush, starting with the bottom 6" and then working through the rest of the tail in sections.

It worked!
Admittedly, it had been washed and conditioned with Mane and Tail spray yesterday but I hadn't been able to get a brush through it. It wasn't the worst it could be today but by the end of my efforts I could easily get the brush through the entire tail!! I added another layer of the Cowboy Magic to work like Pig Oil and hopefully help the tail stay tange free for a few days.

I bought Xtreme detangler from Smart Grooming at a show recently. They were showing videos of how to trim stray hairs and get the perfect polish. Meanwhile I'm saying to Angel 'Let's get this twig out of your mane.' I don't think I'm their target audience somehow! 🤣

The detangler is pretty good though, Angel's tail is super thick and goes into ringlets, this stuff cuts through it well, although it's very heavily perfumed. Hasn't stopped the sh*t sticking though...
