Can you recommend a good tail guard? Never done much travelling with my horse but I have been recently and found that he does lean back.
Would prefer one that stays put and I don't have to use a bandage with
Thanks in advance :)

The original Magic Tail Guards were De Boiz, and I still have one that did 10 years of regular service! There are a lot now, I would look for the quilted ones with Velcro and elastic. They don't need to be on tight. The ones with bags on for clean tails are more faffy and seem to come down more.

Ive got a shires one. Its grippy neoprene on the inside and really stays put. Its nice and long too but not overly padded. I have put an old leg wrap over the bum bar in my trailer though for padding.

I don't bother, tbh . . . whatever we have tried in the past (designated tail guards, bandages, etc.) has just rubbed his sensitive little buttocks red raw, so now we travel him with a tail bandage on the lower part of his tail just to keep it clean (he's grey/tail is white) and he has no protection on his dock at all. No harm done. Yes he rubs against the padding (I know this because his bottom grey from the rubber rather than the usual white) but his tail head/dock are absolutely fine (and he would tell me if they weren't - he is a rather sensitive chap).

Don't bother with one either - have bought various ones over the years as he is a great leaner but found they either fall down or as above, they rubbed him raw (last time it looked really red and sore from the edge of the Velcro)
