Can anyone recommend a big tail guard? Horse is ID with a thick dock, ones I have had in past barely do up on our connie so wondering about this one. After proction as he rests on it rather than keeping tail clean.

You could also try bandaging the tail. In the old days before the velcro tail guards were about we did this and then put a 'tail guard' over the top which was a sort of triangle of padded material about 18" long which had three cloth tapes sewn on it which wrapped round the tail and then you tied them. There was also a long cloth tape sewn at the top which was used to fix the whole thing to the surcingle.

My horse is terrible for scrubbing his bum on the back bar of the trailer so I put a tail bandage on then a Premier Equine tail guard (I think it was £14) over the top. That does the trick - he can lean on the bar and he still comes out with a nice tail.
