Tail ribbons

im taking my young horse to an unaffiliated sj comp and would like to know what colour ribbon i should put in his tail he is just 4yrs and never done any competing before. thanks in advance

I think it's green for a youngster.Might be wrong though!!.

when i first started taking our pony (then 6) to shows bearing in mind she hadnt been to any before , i also put a red ribbon in as well as a green just in case she kicked out, she never did but it was purely for 'just in case'. might be worth doing for his first few outings ,some horses come past pretty close in the warm up and if you boy does get excited and kick out they cant say you didnt warn them! mind you having said that you'd be surprised how many people ignore the fact your horse has ribbons in its tail anyway! good luck and enjoy
