I like my eventers tails pulled, though the eldest of the lot (18) has recently taken an extreme dislike to having his done, (hind legs over top of my head even with clove oil rubbed in!)
Ive heard that these are good Im just worried that I will make his tail look like a topari bush! Any advise for a thinning virgin? and what makes/styles of comb are good for this as ive heard Solo combs only really work on manes...

I got a smart tails and it did work (much better than a solocomb), you just run it down the sides of the tail and it magicly chops off the long bits..... even my whimpy horse didnt object.... but.... I did tidy it up with the clippers afterwards (!!!)... I think I'm a bit obsessive compulsive about my horses hair tho!!!

I solo combed his mane last night and theres not much left of that now either!!

Cue crazed clippering and snipping sounds and evil baddy maniac style laugh....

i brought both and smart tail is TOTALLY BRILLIANTLY for doing a pulled tail look without losing shoes, having a shouting match or having to taking extra personnel injury insurance!!!!
i totally hate bog brush look or folks who get clippers out!!!! and am old fashion girl and have gg with pulled tails BUT this weekend tried this tool and my horse was he totally chilled and in fact he didn't even know i done anything to his tail............ and before it was a huge nightmare to do and completey stressful for both parties............
solo comb very good for shortnering tail and mane....... but smart tail for pulled tail look

I use mine to take the thickness out of a typical pony tail before pulling the last bit properly. I can get a better look that way and my fingers don't hurt!!

Mine came from Supreme Products

DS99 - very funny!!! - Strange this chap should object so much after YEARS of having had it done...
I have brought one - I am now waiting for them to dry off abit - this could be the end of my tail pulling days!... as others have srawny tails anyway and I feel a meany yanking their taily hairs out...

I will let you know how I get on...THANK YOU!!!
