Need a bit of help on how to encourage my lads tail to grow.

It's currently hock length, I assume it has been that length all his life due to him being an ex-racehorse. But I must admit it does look a bit silly, it makes him look like a 2 year old :o

Does anyone have any tips or remedies for encouraging it to grow? I've heard Pig Oil is quite good for the job?
Help please!

I have the opposite problem - I really need to do some tail trimming. The poor TB can nearly step on hers, it's so long. I don't do anything special to get the long tails, I just leave them alone. No brushing (except for special occasions), no lotions or potions and they aren't washed very often.

Good diet, no brushing, wash when really needed... That's what I did under advice from here and my boy's has thickened and grown a bit. Have heard some people have had good experiences with Megatek but can imagine it's ££!

I would recommend Megatek. I have had quite amazing results with rubbed mane, rug rubs, scars from barbed wire etc!

I don't think it is too expensive and, as you only need a little bit, it lasts ages. Smells loverrrrly too! ;)

I'm going to have to give H's tail a bit of a go with it as I was a little over enthusiastic with the scissors :p
