Tailcoats in larger sizes....

Are there any dressage riders on here size 18+ who are wearing tailcoats to compete? I am hoping after lockdown to get out and do my first advanced and having finally got there and warned it I want to get a tailcoat! I am a size 18 ish but broad shoulders, tall (5"11ish) and despite being pretty fit I don’t have a lovely flat stomach ? I am struggling to find off the peg, thinking poss cavallo Vienna which goes up to 22 and has a long option for extra 2cm length. Can’t afford m2m at the moment and don’t really want the two month wait. Or has anybody bought a men’s and successfully had it changed to button the other way? Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks ?

Firstly congrats on getting to this point!

I'm not your size but I can say my Fairplay tailcoat is on the small side of sizings if you do look at them as a brand (they're a bit more budget friendly), if I hadn't had the short version first I think I'd have found it hard to judge. You could maybe do some stalking of riders out there that look a similar build and find out what they're wearing?

I am size 16 (broad shoulders and monkey length arms) and find I go down a size in Pikeur so might be worth a look as I think they are on the generous side.

I'm not at that level, but I did a little search of the Pikeur ones because I was sure they did larger sizes.

the 96 is a long UK 20, and 92 is a long UK 18, so they say. Strictly I think the 96 is actually an 18 when you look at the waist sizes (34") but they do come up big. And long jackets are long. I have a Pikeur soft-shell competition jack in a 16 long and it gives good coverage over the hips and tummy.
