tailgates for keeoing dog in car!

i have a doberman and a whippet who come everywhere with us. i was wondering if anyone new where we could get a tailgate for a volvo v70 estate as the dobie keeps jumping out everytime the boot opens.plus, we have horses so when we go to shows and the dogs come with us, i would like to be able to leave the boot open knowing that they cant get out.we have tried attatching leads to the rings on the boot floor but the dobie is so strong she broke the last one! any help would be helpful!

You can get made-to measure cages and crates for cars, my friends had one made for a different make of estate but it also fitted in their Volvo.

Try Lintran, UK Dog Cages, UK Dog Runs, Kennel Designs and similar companies.

I've got a V70 and its fitted with the gates Volvo install.

Use can get them retro fitted, and the last time we had some installed it cost about £200. Whilst these do not provide the window security you get with a crate, you do retain the full size of the boot.

It takes seconds to remove each gate if you want to use the car for a non doggy load - ie feed sacks.

I've just ordered a tailgate from MMG guards, they were a good price and actually held measurements for my car (a skoda). Other companies wanted me to take measurements and I was worried I would get it wrong

Only downside is they take about 4 weeks to come as the make them up to order. Have had stuff from them in the past and it is good quality and lasts well.
