Those with working dogs who claim exemption - be careful because the exemption only applies whilst they are actually be used for work! A gundog which is simply out for a walk still ought to be wearing a collar (which is a b---r as I much prefer slips!!)
 
My lurchers have working collars when they go for walks, and house collars (webbing collars) in the house.
Just incase they decide to slip out an open door without us seeing.
 
Both of ours wear collars 24/7, just in case they manage to escape. I wouldn't want people to automatically assume my baby girl was a stray.

I take her collar off to clean it, and to give her a bath, but that's more or less it (unless I randomly decide she'll be comfier naked and let her go around without it for a while - but then she looks weird and her neck fur sticks up where the collar was

I went through a stage of getting my two greyhounds to wear house collars in case they escaped, but they didnt like them and the collars never seem to fit properly (despite being purchased from a greyhound charity!)

So mine wear one whenever they leave the house, as they are always on a lead

Henry's even has bells attached to it sometimes

It was a lifesaver on holiday since my grandparents can be a bit wobbly on their feet and so the bells gave them a early warning of a ballistic Henry approaching!

Also helpful when he goes diving through cover to get to the river as if I have to rescue him from getting stuck due to slippy or high banks I can find him

I only put my lot in their collars when we leave the house, they come off once they're back in. Unless we're on holiday in which case they stay on 24/7. Dunno why I do it like that though
 
24/7 for my adult dog (she has an indigo tag, they are brilliant) pup (14 weeks) has his on unless he is in his crate as i worry that it might get caught if he is jumping around. once he is completely housetrained and isnt chewing everything and therefore not shut in the crate when i am out,he will have his on 24/7 as well. there is always a chance that they may get out and i prefer them to be easily identified rather than relying on the microchip..
