The Chronicles of the Horse Forum is another forum which is great to look at with regards to breeding etc.

I'm wondering if he has any time left for breeding his own horses the amount of time he's having to spend on forums

. I too have only read the first page but it does look like it will turn into a heated argument, maybe later.....

I think he was doing ok until he suggested someone had been partaking of the white powder substance, after that it got a little heated!!!
They are a strait laced lot some of the Americans it seems and can't see a joke...

Oh I wonder which ones he is referring to??

and there's a tendency to diss other studbooks
I don't diss any of the major European stud books, they are all very good. There are some very poor registries in the UK however.

Sorry to hijack Ant but this made me laugh out, the saddo that I am!!

A Representative should be capable of handling a debate with professional diplomacy... Oh please, how many times do you need to be told something before you get it? And yet you'd kid us all that you're able to read!

although as an American myself,, he did imply that some of us are on drugs... Don't put your words in my mouth. If you can't read simple black and white English that's not my fault. You're just on here today becasue you've got nothing else to do other than pick holes in Zangersheide. It's a holiday, go do something productive (like learn to read).

So here is a question Z. Sire and dam are both approved for breeding say Dutch. They have a colt, that colt is registered Z and only Z he can only be registered in one studbook so if they chose Z then he's Z. Can that foal sire Z approved foals, from dams that are ONLY registered Z? NO, he can sire foals that can be registered with other stud books, and if the breeder wanted Z papers for the foals, then the mare would have to be REGISTERED FOR BREEDING with Zangersheide, using the method and rules listed four times earlier in this thread. Also, we don't approve foals, we register them.

I think this is where one or two of you are getting discombobulated. Don't confuse "registered" with "registered for breeding".

on a thread that HE started... Well, I guess that if we needed proof that you haven't read this thread all the way through, here it is................................................ .

If you have a couple of hours it is a good read, honest

I've seen this thread too - but to be honest am now getting bored with it as it is soooooo long.....lots of arguements on both sides but what makes me laugh is the US guys saying that by allowing Z into the USA is taking a step toward making America a Socialist country...WTF????? Where the hell does that come from in a discussion about breeding and studbooks????

BTW I actually don't think Ken started this thread but rather one of the American breeders on there but it has just spiralled out of control from there......

That was/is a real popcorn thread. I kinda wish Anney hadn't started the thread, but she did so the worms very quickly started falling out of the can.

You've Tri who is a failed magazine publisher, who is convinced that there is a conspiracy in everything, and Misita who beleives that the US army has bought him the right to have a choice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, whilst reducing the choice of one or two others in the world.

Having said all of that, registrations in the USA have been great and I'll have a couple of tough weeks out there in October/November (they genuinely will be tough) branding and registering. It is evident that there are a few registries and stallion owners out there who are more than a little scared that Z are there.

Did any of you see what a massive difference in attitudes/cultures there is between this board and The Chronicle?

But Tri bless her, is tri-ing........ and she's quite right for the meantime, foal registrations are so important as a bid for greater voting rights, now I wonder where she got that idea from......

Only that I dont think any of your posts have got quite so long! I thought it was very entertaining (but I would). I did think the reaction to the comment about white powder was quite tame. It would be boring if we all had the same opinion.

That would be this comment then;

I've found the answer!

Tri, I think you're right, and I'm very happy to throw my weight behind you and help create a fantastic American based sport horse registry. I was thinking about a few names, and came up with these:

American Sporthorse Studbook

or

United States Sporthorse Registry

The main criteria for the first is that all members must wear classic 501's. I kinda felt that Misita would be a great President for the second one.

What does everyone think? I'm I a marketing guru or what?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess they've not picked up on the two registries being the ASS and USSR yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's see how long it takes them to figure that out...if they do I think they'll track you down and kill you when you're next over there Ken!!!

Typical, I can't get the website to load up. The joy of living in an area where broadband does not exist!
I think we should start a sweepstake on how long it takes for them to work out the acronym! I reckon 48 hours!

So Tri, do you not want a piece of American Sporthorse Studbook?

Or Misita are you sure you don't want to be the president of the United States Sporthorse Registry?
