Taking 2 yr old to show ground for 1st time???

Mate is showing her youngster in couple of weeks and asked if I wanted to take my 2 yr old(I had asked her to let me know as wanted quite show just to walk him around etc not show).
Am having second thoughts as he's never been at a show and chances are mate will get placed(usually does) and will have to wait for champs and rely on her to transport back.Would prefer to wait til get own transport so if he gets too tired/really unsettled would like the option just to go which if waiting for a champ class won't be able to.
Am I being too cautious??I am aware I can be guilty of that.

i took my yearling to her first show on sunday, it was her first of the yard aswell. she was so well behaved i still can't believe it as she's a really baggage at home.

How long was she there for Jewel?
Anywayshave made a decision am definitely not going as saw mate today and she's entered 4 classes with her lad(he's older 3) and don't think its fair to ask him to mill about a whole day with 1 travel each way for very first jaunt to show.
