My husband is insisting I go along with him to a camping trip next month, organised by his 4x4 buddies. Basically he goes off-roading all weekend and I get to stay in a tent! Great!
So I thought about taking my horse with me:eek:. We are staying near the beach and on a farm, so presuming the campsite will let me, do you think my horse would be ok to go?
It would either stay in a field on site (please note I have not mentioned this to the campsite owners at all yet), or I could maybe corral it next to the tent. She is very laid back, so wouldn't imagine she'll miss her field buddy too much for a couple of nights.
Am I just dreaming and being silly?:o:confused: Or could this work?
Anyone ever camped with their horse before?

I went Caravanning for a week or so at a time a couple of years in a row with my Mare in the New Forest.

Mum and I took our girls down and managed to blag a field in a local livery/riding school.

it was great! - Adventure and new places to explore!
I would have a word with the Owners of the site and see what they can arrange or suggest?!

where are you going chick? we went to camp in northumberland, and the campsite had stables next to a mahooosive beach. we asked the owners if we could take horses if we went again and they said yes, they'd give us a little paddock but we'd need to bring our own hay and feed (obviously!)

That sounds like great fun, Happy Hunter!
And what a nice campsite you found Jenhunt!
We're going near Robin Hood's Bay, Bay Ness campsite or something like that. It has a 4x4 centre attached to it and is on the top of the cliff. Might be worth it to ask the campsite, you never know!:)
