Would you? I used to have such a good time taking Benson to the beach, not just riding, but just being there with other horse minded people, chatting, etc etc. Would it be strange to take donovan down there, and just walk in hand on the beach, maybe paddle in the sea? And maybe once he is broken to drive, take him driving there?

There is a lady near us who regularly walks her young filly to the beach for a splash and a paddle (and occasionally a bit of a swim!).
Pony seems to love it (judging by the amount of splashing that goes on:D ).

I think it sounds like a great idea...we are going to take our 3 with the little welshie as I think he will love it and it gets all of us out of the normal routine. Im going to have him on a lunge line just in case he gets a bit fresh....he can be giddy but at the end of the line!

we had a fab trip to the beach last weekend - although we were riding. Went early on a cold day and there were 6 people, 2 horses and 2 dogs including us on the whole 4 miles of beach. If only I could go for a paddle in the sea without getting so dizzy I think I'm coming off!

I think it's a great idea, remember to take a lunge line or something so you don't have to get wet! Do what you want to do, not what you think is right or wrong :-) X

I would if I could. But as I have no form on transport I don't really think it would be suitable to take mine on a half hour bus ride and a 20 minute train ride and then the same to come home :D

We only had the beach to ride on when I was young it was our school as it was just underneath our house nothing but a steep bank between us and the beach It was glorious best school in the world
Nothing better than schooling at near midnight on a deserted beach on a summer night
