Went to Blenheim today and guess what the most popular breed was? There were LOADS of greyhounds/whippets/lurchers there - it was fab

Yes it was warm and sunny (esp in the afternoon) but I offered them regular drinks, kept them in the shade, and they had a great time

And I am a very very happy owner this evening as I have two knackered dogs who are flaked out asleep.... ahhhh peace and quiet

Fortunately there were not many spaniels there today

I actually dont remember seeing many cockers at all TBH, so goodness knows where you were hiding

Especially at the swimming bits at the lake!

There were some lovely greyhounds and lurchers though

We were too posh to go near those vulgar areas of the park

I did see a cracking pair of cockers mind you, they were on one of those 'couple' leads, a tricolour and a brown and white (not sure what you call it in cockers!) They were lovely

I am sure Hen would have been lovely too if we had known you were there and had actually seen him

You would have heard him a mile off, he still finds eventing very very very exciting... he won't learn if we don't keep going though!

You would recognised me too, I was bright red in the face and reguarly squirting him with water to get him to shut up! Although in the end what worked was getting him an ice cream - worse than children....

I have always taken a dog eventing, though not been for a while. Last time I went , to Sansaw, my old girl Chaka embarrassed me by leaping into a disgusting pond (she was on lead, I nearly went too) and for the rest of the day she absolutely stank.

The only time Chaka was ever a pain at shows was when my daughter was riding, she seemed to think she needed rescuing from the terrible horse running away with her and used to scream encouragement

Evie has been to a few shows, think she might get a bit hyper at first at eventing, will have to start at a local HT first to save further embarrassment.

My greyhound always comes to events with me, he has the very important job of guarding the lorry! I just have to make sure that I have a supply of plastic bags with me when I take him out, as he has the uncanniest habit of always doing his business in the secretary's tent!
