Taking Horse to Uni??

Hi, I’m taking my horse to Aberystwyth in September too! I’m quite nervous about moving yards because we’ve always been on the same yard, but I know I’ll miss her way too much if I leave her behind.
I’ve applied for French and History, so I’m really glad I’m not the only non-equine science person bringing my horse! :D

Ahhhh this is great!! Yeah apparently there are quite a few non-equine science people who keep their horses at lluest. Are you going this September or next one (2020)?
I completely understand about missing them.... what’s your’s called?

I knew a useless English Lit student at my college who always got his essays in late and told to buck his ideas up; he's currently Sec. of State for Environment. I'd say go for what you're good at and have a passion for, as that's what counts in the long run as that's what employers are looking for, motivation. Not everyone can be scientists or engineers or technical professions, a lot of the growth in the UK economy is arts and media which require humanity degree; plus what employers look for above all is enthusiasm and motivation in their given area.

We’re hopefully heading up this September if I get the grades I need. She’s a chunky cob called Indie, and I’m hoping that I can slim her down a bit more before September so she’ll fit through the stables doors up there!

I took a horse to uni and had a part time job, it is totally manageable. Luckily for me hangovers only started to take effect once I turned 21 so early mornings to sort horse before work or lectures were not a problem. Now i struggle to walk to my back door to let the horses out after a few too many!

My degree is totally irrelevant to my day to day job but I loved the subject (Biology). For a lot of jobs degree level education is required. Providing it isn't a totally mickey mouse degree it doesn't really matter how relevant it is. The people I have employed in my team have degrees in Zoology/ History/ Journalism/ Chemistry/ Marketing/ Politics. As others have mentioned university is much more than getting a degree, lots of life lessons!

Good luck.
