As a rule I only take one horse at a time with no partion and full breast bar. However a friend has agreed to ride one of my horses and I would like to take both.

My lad is a 16 hand chunky Fresian and my mare is a 15.1 Welsh section D I dont think there will be much room so who travels two horses of a simular size in a 505 and how do you find it ? Or shall I have to upgrade to a 510 ?

it's easy, just watch they're well-ventilated and don't overheat.

My 505 usually goes out with 2 on board, my 16.1 "hunter" and anything from 15.1 Welshie up to 16.1 "hunter" alongside. No probs. I put the haynets at front (not sides). Only issue is that each horse will naturally want to eat the other horse's hay!

My two (shire x clydesdale and a CB x welsh) are both big boned girls, and have travelled together in a 505 without too many problems.
The shire x was a bit too long, so we couldn't use the rear breech bar with her, and she was squashed against the sides so she couldn't have done too many miles in it.

But towing and unloading/loading was fine

IW505 should easy manage those 2.

Travel the heavier horse on the right to compensate for the road camber and you shouldnt have any problems.

I find it tight to unload out of the front ramp, my lad always seem to catch himself as he comes out. For this reason I always make him reverse out. Would prefer to do that than travel him on the left and potentially become unstable - (although that's with one horse, i don't think there would be a great deal of one sidedness with your 2 oofadoofa)

We have a 505 and it copes fine with our two TBs, one is a looong 16 hands and the other a shorter but much wider 16hh and they fit fine - travelled them up to 2 hours in it without any fuss. Also travelled various variations of pairs including a 15hh tbxwb and 14hh Highland who is as wide as he is tall and again its coped fine....
