Talk about BOGOF!!!

Trouble is she bought him from a sale and prior to that he came from Ireland. No other owners logged in his passport so would have been hard to check, hence checking manually.
Even the vet didn't notice when he gave his jab and a check over!
I can't blame the poor little guy, and to be honest he has only once given me pause for thought which is why I checked. Vet coming out later this week so see what's what then.

I've heard that donkey jacks won't really cover mares voluntarily. Might be no truth in that but I know someone who has had a jack donkey in with her mare for about two years now and no babies.

You get the occasional shy one, but most jacks will sh*g anything; equine, canine, human... they're not fussy..

There's a hilarious video knocking about of a donkey in Spain attempting to rape a tourist who stopped for a wee behind a bush.

Make sure your vet knows about Donkey castration (and not just that he says he does because he's done horses) they can be little bleeders (Literally!) and they don't react to aneasthetics the same way as horses.
Also be careful they don't end up as pasture ornaments before after several years of virtually no work or training end up "doing the rounds" of free to good homes on preloved or dragon driving.Remember they live and work longer than horses...hence this twenty year old competing

yes I know two chestnut mares for the kids, i figure if they learn with these they will be able to handle anything!!

so what do we think, cute mules?

Tbh the way the horse world is I wouldn't want to bring any foal into this world, so many horses being bred it doesn't need adding 2.

Well no one is in foal at the moment apparently, however the idea of a mule is quite appealing.
Woody will be allowed to keep his plums at present as he is behaving beautifully but if he does start to misbehave we'll have a re think. He misses the girls I think although they are just over the fence but he has a friend coming to keep him company now.
As for baby mules, well we'll just have to think about it.
