we rang the guy we bought haylage from last year to see if he had some again this year. He wasn't in but we left a message for him. My sister and I then went out for a ride.

Just as we arrived back at the yard the guy arrived (in his tractor!) having got the message. We had a brief chat, and the long and short is that he's going to deliver 3x 60 bale loads over the winter for us at £4 a bale!

so now that's sorted I just need to get some bedding!! (just put a few bags of megazorb in the stables for now... Ron tried eating it, and then spent 10 minutes licking the wall to get it out of his mouth!

i know, i'm really pleased! Tom is really fussy about hay and haylage and would only eat 2 slices of hay a night until we got the first lot of haylage from Shaun... now we're lucky if he hasn't eaten all 4 slices he's given overnight! plus he broke into the feed shed last week and ate into and through half a (previously unopened) bale!!
