My questions are this

What is it?

What does it help do?

Where do I get it from and how much to feed?

Thankies:)

What is it? - Magnesium Oxide

What does it help do? - Calmer (base ingredient in most calmers)

Where do I get it from and how much to feed? - Ebay, 1 scoop

Thankies:)

Hope that helps?

I could be totally wrong, and am therfore open to correction......

As well as a calmer magnesium, can help prevent cresty necks and fat deposits - but don't ask me how or why!

Mag Ox is very good for Lami horses and horses that that have EMS,IR and Cushings..
It helps disperse the fat deposits and crestiness and it also helps the hind gut by keeping the good bacteria working properly..

Also to add the purer the better..Pro Earth on either Ebay or directly off their website do a 93% pure...I feed Calmag that i get from Mole Valley and it is 82% pure which means it is coarser and some horses wont touch it..I have to heavily wet my horses feed and put Fengucreek in their to mask it..It cost me £14 for a 15kg bag which is still going strong after 4 months at 10mg per day..

I have just been recommended to try this for this very purpose so will be interested to see if it does have an effect.
I worked out the cost of it (have just bought a small tub but will look in Mole Valley next time for the big one) and it was 10p per day.

It works brilliantly on my lad who is IR..If you are just starting on Mag i would double up dosage for a week or two..Don't worry you cannot overdose Mag as the body just disperses the excess..

It's a lot more than has been said here, although true. Google it and you'll be surprised! I would always give it to any horse I owned regardless of any ailments or behaviours.

I have my old retired horse who has Cushings on a 25ml scoop of a 50/50 mix of mag ox and cinnamon which seems to have really helped. He wasn't keen on the taste for the first few days but happily eats it now.

It only does any good if the horse/pony is deficient in Magnesium. I had the Z man on it for a while and all it did was induce very loose droppings - didn't help with fat deposits and actually made him poorly.

Doesn't do any harm to try - but I don't think there is a magnesium deficiency on the grazing
