Talk nerdy to me about experiences, opinions, facts about locking snaffles! I accidentally picked up a used one that was sold as a regular lozenge but turns out to be an EZ Control. Was looking for something simple and comfy for my guy while we do 8 weeks of handwalking while a torn tendon in my hand heals. I'll probably keep it in the tack box for now, but I'm wondering if and when I might want to pull it out. (Probably not for a while, as he needs something stronger for hacking, but possibly later when we're schooling in an enclosed area?)
How do they work, aside from "they lock"? Do the sides lock independently, in practice? What's your experience been with them? What factors have you found make horses like/not like them? Respond well/not respond well?
