Talk to me about Pariani - what's this saddle worth?

I bought a secondhand Pariani dressage saddle the other day. I've done as much research as I can but have found very few for resale and so cannot gauge what they go for, or if people are just hanging onto them. The only place that appears to sell them is Arka Equipe, and they sell them new for £3000+.

The model I've got is a slightly older monoflap, in lovely condition but with some slight fading. I'll attach some pictures but they do make it look very because I took them at sunset - it's black, just with some slightly lighter areas. The leather is obviously very good quality and the saddle itself is stamped with Pariani branding several times, and also has a stamp on the underside to confirm that it was made in Italy, as I know they offered their name to the M. Toulouse saddles for a while (although I suppose those wouldn't have drifted over here!)

So What do you know about the brand? And, if we're allowed to discuss this here, how would you price this saddle? (I ask because I tried it on my beast yesterday and while it fits me beautifully - and is mega to ride in - it only barely fits him with shims underneath and I'd rather keep shopping for something he'll be really comfortable in.) I've emailed Pariani to see what they think and will chat to a couple of saddlers at the weekend, but am interested in what the horsey hive mind reckons!

New price divided by two, then up or down for condition and age, and then as you're acknowledging, brand comes into it. You might get £1000 but the brand will be trickier than another of the continental £3k saddles as it's not so well known so probably less.

Looks a beautiful saddle! They are popular in Italy but the only second hand ones i can find online for sale are very old ones in poor condition going for €150-400.

I'd suggest put on ebay with a reserve of what you paid for it?

Oh that's very nice. No idea on price but monoflaps are popular atm. You could probably get 1.5k quite easily.

Hi - I fit saddles for Arka Equipe, who sell Pariani as you spotted - to give an idea we sold a dressage non-monoflap ex-demo (not even girthed up) for £1300. It was a prototype though so always tricky to price. We're selling an ex-demo monoflap (more used though) xc saddle for £1100. It is tricky with a lesser known brand, and we tend to stick with Prestige now at fittings as in the UK people a) don't know Pariani well so for the price look elsewhere and b) they tend to be of a slightly more old-school fit. Being a monoflap dressage is definitely on your side though, try putting it on eBay and if you fancy it open it up to international bidders as the brand is much more popular in the US and in Europe.
