Currently there is a good sale on ofw.one and Kim has 40% off all uhip.

I've just bought the long trench which is gorgeous super smart and excellent waterproofing.

I'm now considering something warm for under it.

They do a wool liner for it, but there's also the option of a padded type coat - like the ice or 365

Thoughts anyone?

I have the Nordic coat and it's totally amazing. in fact I just bought another in the sale. My old one has done 4 years and is still perfectly good apart from a couple of holes where I caught it on a fence, I bought the second one because I also like to wear it going out, and the old one is usually too muddy for this. It's super warm, but actually I never get too hot in it and it goes through to mid spring very comfortably. I also bough a gilet in the sale, which I like very much as it's not too bulky and fits under other coats.

The sizing seems to be quite big IMO, originally had to send the first one back for a smaller size but they were brilliant about it.

The nordic is on my list, is it quite poofy? I might sometimes want to put the trench over it for very cold wet days

Thanks

It's not thick like the old puffa jackets, it's surprisingly light and thin for such a warm coat. That said it is quilted so I am not sure what you'd get over the top unless one was a size up. If you're mainly looking for something under the trench you might be better with one of the liners - I haven't tried those.

It does go on over my kyla coat at the moment to be fair so there is some room. I'm dithering really because I suspect the liner would work best but kind of in love with the nordic coat ?

I have the frost padded coat, long one. It’s AMAZING. Sadly my UHIP trench wasn’t waterproof after I washed it despite following instructions. They did replace it but I’ve not yet needed to use it as no rain!

Sorry to highjack this thread. I have been looking at uhip coats for a while. How is the sizing? The coat I like smallest size is a 10 and I am an 8. I was wondering if it will be too big.

Not massive, I'd say pretty true to size if you're a smaller 8 10 would be pretty big I think

I’m a small size 10. I have a uHIP size 38 and have wondered if 36 would be better but decided to opt for a bit more room for jumpers. Don’t generally need more than one but I hate being cold. If you’re an 8, the 36 would be my best bet.

I have the nordic coat- i think it’s that one. Husband bought me for christmas 2022. Absolutely fantastic coat. I can only wear below 6c as it’s so warm!

I have an urban stretch and I'd say it's slightly generous. I do love it, though the wrist wotsits are really sweaty when it's mild and wet, even though the coat is lightweight and not horribly hot in those conditions (it's pretty warm when needed).
