Do you remember a few months ago I made a post about Tango, Arab x Welsh with possible lymphosarcoma? I had to call vet out tonight as he had colic again, quite a nasty one. He has been on 80 steroid tablets a day (Box of Frogs post earlier) and after putting on quite alot of condition with Blue Chip and plenty of good grazing, he has lost it all in the last two weeks. His colic only lasted about half an hour, then he was up and wanting haylage, plenty of gut activity. His owner has decided that she cant do this anymore and Tango is going to be PTS tomorrow morning.
He has the most amazing shine on him for a grey and is really chirpy. I asked our very experienced equine vet if we were putting off the inevitable ... she said yes, due to the fact that his weight had plateaud and that due to the steroids, his immune system was compromised hence the loss of hair on his neck.
He has the most amazing doe'y eyes and rests his neck on your shoulder. This is a hard one.
His mom cant stay with him tomorrow which I completely respect, she has lost another 2 neds in the last few years.
HHO vibes please for tomorrow morning, if there are any left.
ETS ~ Owner just phoned, euthinasia organised for 4pm tomorrow
