Tape worm

Has anyone wormed for tape worm yet? If not when are you planning on doing it? I've had a worm egg count done which came back clear so just need to double dose for tape.

I've just done mine with Pramox. This is the correct time to treat for tapeworm. Spring & Autumn.

I've done mine with pramox too. As it catches encysted small redworms as well, which don't show up on counts.

Thank you. My vet told me April but I've got a feeling she may have tapeworm so wanted to do it sooner. If you've all done it then I will too!

March or April for tapeworm. You should already have wormed for encysteds (moxidectin or panacur 5 day) to catch them before their spring emergence.

so you can either use equitape (prazi) or pyratape/strongid and double does. Please be aware there is some resistance to the latter so it shouldnt be used every time.

My vet recommended a double dose of Exodus which contains Pyrantel so should cover redworms as well. Thank you everyone!

I wormed with Equimax tabs in February which apparently covers tapeworm aswell, should I worm him purely for tapeworm again in April?
