Tapering off Gastrogard Opremazole

I'm treating my mare for ulcers with a 4 week course of opremazole.

In the past I've been advised to taper this off when the course is finished, however the treating vet was dismissive of whether there is any value. What is everyone's experience?

I will have 4 tubes left after the course finishes, so could do 8 days at 1/2 dose - but is this long enough? Or will I need to buy another box of 14?

My vet was also dismissive but I did it anyway - I think for about a week or so so the same as you OP. She's been clear ever since.

I would just use up what you have at a lower dose.

My vet advised to taper off, we did 2 weeks at half dose and 2 weeks at quarter dose.
