Closed herd, newest horse arrived 6 months ago,was wormed before arrival by previous owners with ivermectin, wormed again by me with ivermectin after a medium worm count 6 weeks ago. Am due to do them all next month for encysted red worm and bots so probably ivermectin again. But regarding tapeworm,if I test one of them with the equisal test and it comes back positive does that mean they are all likely to have them? And if it comes back negative does it mean that are all likely to not have it? The test is so expensive, the wormers themselves are cheaper and this is a consideration.

I had two tested, one had them one didn't. Westgate told me it depends on the horse and worm only the one.

Just bit the bullet and did Equisal on all our herd, like others have said 2 definitely needed treatment, a couple borderline and the rest nothing needed.
All graze the same paddocks

3 horses in a closed herd. One came back positive, wormed appropriately & came back positive again 6 months later. He's now tested negative several times, the other 2 have never had a positive test.
