Okay, I've now heard it all. So, following on from my post last night. In a nutshell: Paul Chequers appealed the licensing boards decision and won. They didn't inform me in case it 'distressed' me. (In other words, they forgot or didn't bother). I explained that he keeps some of his taxis opposite my yard, so it was even more distressing having to phone the police and send them on a wild goose chase; and, of course to potentially meet him whilst walking or riding along the lane. Apparently this now has to go to a magistrate, so here we go again. Just when I thought I'd got closure.
SO.....if you see a fat lady with 'Mug' on her forehead, walking around Bridgwater, that'll be me; be nice to me, I can't stand any more disappointments.

the way you have been treated and the injustice is a snapshot of all the things that are wrong in the world.

This is awful! What kind of message are they sending to these criminals? Fight your corner and don't let them beat you down. Can only imagine how upsetting this is for you. Big hugs. xx

Just appeal and keep doing so until they realise, also get local paper involved make his life hell (stick to the law like glue) also tell everybody word of mouth is an amazing thing.

I second the word-of-mouth thing and going to the press. Definitely stick to the facts, no wiggle-room for accusations of defamation/libel/slander.

Worst comes to the worst, do what some criminals do and take it to the European Court for Human Rights...it's your human right not to be run over on your horse by a numpty with a grudge.

Horse & Hound ran an article when it was news that a horse had died and a rider been injured in an RTA... Perhaps it is worth asking them to follow it up if they really wish to provide an opinion on safe driving around horses MollyMum...

It may also be worth contacting the BHS as they campaign* for greater riding safety... Perhaps it's a big ask but a statement from a respected organisation expressing just a little outrage at the leniency extended to this berk wouldn't be a bad thing...

Have you contacted your MP and local paper? Also another long shot but perhaps Adorable Alice can advise from the perspective of the council and licensing board...

At the end of the day, from the OP's previous posts, Paul Chequers deliberately and intentionally used his vehicle to ram a horse rider he had a personal issues with and gave zero consideration for the safety of either the horse or rider... His insurers admitted liability and he received a conviction for a deal brokered minor driving offence...

It's outrageous and I really hope a private prosecution is being brought against him...
