She has 4-5 lumps under her chin, some are pea sized others are a it bigger. I noticed them a week ago but they haven't gone down. Vet is booked for monday.

9 years ago we had a strangles scare on the yard we were on, I had the vet to check Tazz over. It was along time ago but I remember him saying something about 'pea glads' that swell up under their chin sort of like our glads on our necks. Anyone heard of this or know anything about it? I'm going out of my mind with worry, she 23 now and my best friend in the world. She seems a little quite to me but I'm not sure if I'm just thinking this because I've found these lumps. Any advice?

sorry I'm not sure whatthey could be but personally I would call the vet and explain what they look like. If they think it is something that needs to be looked at asap then they will come out before Monday.

are they like squashy or hard and have they got bigger in the past week?? i know when my boy got strangles there was no snot there or anything, and i went up one day to turn him out and when i put his headcollar onmy arm must have rubbed under his chin and my coat was couler of blood and puss, then the vet came and swabbed him and it came back clear as if he didnt have it but we moved him away from the rest of the horses just incase but it turned out that it was strangles, and chances are a few of the others had it as it was such a mild case of it and the others had been a bit snotty but we just thought ity was a cold going round as it wasnt like green or anything but shorty and one of my freinds horses got it because her horse was old and mine wasnt very well so it hit them worse! i think i would usualy say give it a bit longer but as she isnt as young anymore i think the vet coming out to have a look would be best! mine sometimes get lumps and bumps when the grass is changing. can you keep us informed on what it is once the vets been please.

strangles are usually under the jaw or either side of the jaw where the glands are. is she eating? does she have discharge from her eyes or nose? is she running a temperture?
