I have a copy of a tb breeder magazine, plenty of stallion adverts in it BUT on one of the adverts I note that it states "has no Northern Dancer lines", why is this? Just to pull in people with ND mares or is there another reason..?

It's because the majority of TBs in the world have Northern Dancer in their bloodline so if the stallion doesn't carry N.D. blood in it, then it is advertised as Free of Northern Dancer. Basically, if you've got a horse that about 5 generations back has Northern Dancer in its line, don't get excited - most of them have.

As long as it doesn't mean their hooves will drop off I'm happy, yeah mine is from a Sadler's Wells mare so has ND lines :D
