I know, did it on elec tape! Feel so sorry for him! Although TBH he's actually been quite calm about it all (makes a change!)! Lets me clean it up etc and apply fly cream, just won't let me plait his forelock again!! Can you believe it?! He's more touchy thinking I'm going to pull his mane, than seeing to his hole in his head!! Gave him a whole tube of dormosedon to tend to him today, had no effect at all! Therefore his fringe is getting all matted up in it! Vet's out tomorrow though so will get him knocked out and sorted!
 
Poor horse! He looks really sorry for himself,when vets up and if he's sedated cut his forelock back or stitch it into a loose bobble,it'll grow back :)

My 12.1hh cut his head right down to the skull not quite as bad as that and it will heal!!

On the plus side before his injury he wouldn't jump fillers, afterwards he would jump anything!!

Wishing your horse a speedy recovery !! :D
 
Given him lots of hugs and kisses from everyone!! Vets been, sedated him after two lots of iv sedative! Had a clean up and is scabbing over nicely! Iv also cut his forelock off!! Poor boy, although doesn't look any worse!! It's still really swollen!

As for the elec tape, it's the only thing that looks a possibility as it had come out of gripper and was dangling down! Also thought could possibly have been a branch! No signs of blood in field though anywhere! Some people have suggested that maybe someone's done it! Don't think he'd go to anyone but you never know I suppose. Iv moved them from the back fields to the one at the bottom of garden so I can keep an eye on them! Problem is it's their winter trash field that iv been resting!

Poor, poor boy . . . one of ours did this - in his stable! Lord knows how. Actually fractured his skull. A week or so later and he can be ridden . . . amazing how resilient they are.

So hope that someone hasn't done this to your lovely boy . . . sending healing vibes.
