Having to long rein (or lunge with 2 lines) my TB as ordered from the physio, long reining has turned to lunging with 2 reins, something i thought i would struggle with but its really been alot better than trying to lunge with one rein as she can be a bit unruly on the lunge. At first when the line went round her behind in trot she bucked alot and caused the line to wedge under her tail on to her lady bits :o causing her to buck more. However today we built a bridge :) elevated trotting poles where order of the day (again ordered by physio) under saddle shes fab at jumping but riderless over a few raised poles she was like now way!! major strop, bucking/farting/rearing after 15 mins of coaxing and me being a bit firmer and not afraid or intimidated by flying hoofs from all directions - she was going over them like a dream :)
Am pleased in a way that we are getting these issues sorted and shes getting better in terms of her thinking she is boss mare, she is finally starting to come round and be more respectful of me on the ground.
She looks fab and i really can see an improvement in the way she is going in just 5 days of long reining, shes stretching down lovely into the side reins and really swinging through her back end.
looks to me as she is finding the whole using herself correctly alot less uncomfortable.
Physio coming out again in 3 weeks for another assessment. The future may not be so bleak after all :D

Hoping in a few months i will not only have my newly backed cob to ride but also my lovely girl will be back fighting fit to ride again :)
