My lad has suspected shin splints and is currently on box rest and bute, for next few days.

i am thinking of maybe buying some magnetic boots for when he has recovered to try and help/prevent as i have heard good things about them,

Has any one got any experience with them? or any recommendations on a brand?

or any thing else you have used for this kind of situation and had results?

any advice very very appreciated at the moment

ps magnetic boots would not be going on til we have a recovery as i don't want to course more damaged, the ones i have seen
are brushing boot form

Personally I would not use magnets which increase blood flow on splints .
I would cold hose them three times a day or use cool boots .

goldenstar, is there any brand of cold boot you would recommend, and i am right in thinking cold boots are the ones with like ice pack sin them or you put them in cold water before applying

No to the magnetic boots - they shouldn't be used on anything which is inflammed. Cold hosing - proper cold hosing- either with a hose and 20 minutes worth of water or icepack type things under light bandages, and rest. Most people's idea of cold hosing is less than 5 minutes or until they get bored and it is a total waste of time at that duration.
