TB's do they deserve their reputation??(poll)

If your horse is 5-6 years old (and backed) does he/she have a white patch on his/her back?

My TB would much prefer to be in for the majority of the time all year round (although he isn't) - he doesn't do weather of any description bless him. Doesn't like it too hot, or too cold and actively detests rain and wind...
 
Have a 4yo TB in foster care - he's so laid back he's horizontal. Its my Connemara who gets silly.

I used to ride a Chestnut mare TB at a riding school when I started riding again. She was used as a nursemaid for newbies riding out and going XC as she was so relaxed and never put a foot wrong. She could fairly shift, though, when she wanted to. We got tailed off one morning behind the ride one morning in the forest and she decided we better catch up - it was the fastest I've ever gone on a horse (magic!).
 
My TB (ex flat racer) is sooooo laid back 99.99% of the time, but then he has his 'funny 5 minutes' and then back to his old self. You can ride him passed anything, however if a little child comes along on their squeaky tractor eeek eeek eeek, then he wakes up and grinds his teeth, jumps up and down and then starts chewing his bit, and then 5 minutes later he is his old laid back self again. On the ground you can do anything you like with him and he just stands there fast asleep ... the only thing he is not keen on is wiping fly spray on him, however he just figits and pulls faces basically.

I have the most mega chilled out ex racer! Nothing bothers him (the only exception being a dumped fridge - but I guess you don't see many of them on Newmarket Heath) Figured he must have won his races by waiting til the others got bored as he has no inclination to whizz off past anything. Much saner than the others - Welsh D, warmblood and tb x! Even the Shetland is more nuts than he is.
 
Ok, Sov is 90% angel, but the 10% is really bad!!! Like total psycho loon!
Emerald is laid back to the point of lying down, but if he loses the plot he goes off the deep end, but is no way as scary as Sov (98%angel)
Everyone thinks Emmy is cute, Sov is gorgeous but nobody will ever accept a ride on him!!

Mines v laid back and the most loving horse ever - first horse and ive learnt to ride on him. He was 11 and had came off the track 4 months previous and been turned away for that time - got on him 2 try him out and he was such a sweetie!

Just if an electric legged rider gets on him he soon goes crazy!!!
 
I've only owned one but ridden quite a few - they definately tend to have their quirks!

I think the main problem is that their adrenaline, once up, can keep them going for hours! If they're having an off day you just need to know to put them back in the field and forget it as you're fighting a loosing battle!
