TBs leg is still no better......

Don't know if you remember but got loan horse back with a badly swollen leg and got vet to came out next day and put him on antibiotics and wanted me to ring him the following tuesday this week.
Anyway it was weeping but it has all dried up now, but the swelling hasn't gone down may even have got bigger and there is a lot more heat when you touch it, he isn't lame but when you push it towards the back it is quite soft but when you press it round the front it is hard and he kicks out as if it is painful for him he is still trotting round field happily (vet did say to leave him out)
What do you think it could be?
Will be ringing vet tomorrow and he said he will do x-rays if it was no better so will find out but am worrying about it now.
Also if it was on the inside of his hock is it likely to be a kick as i am now starting to think they may have been trying to jump him over solid fences and he is a VERY bad jumper
 
Yes, could still be a kick- ifthe horses went back to back. The hind leg is further from the heart so swelling can take longer to go down. Try putting a ubigrip on it but i would definately get the vet to have another look
 
Is there anychance he has got something in it,sounds similar to a brrodmare were I used to work who had a bramble or thorn go into her leg and work its way in,caused infection surrounding it with hard,hot lump and weeping but was never lame on it.
Eventually the thorn worked its way out with the pus(nice) and then infection cleared up.
 
Inside of hock could quite easily be a kick. Stop worrying - it is perfectly normal for a horse to have a swelling for a good few days. It is really early days for it and the fact he is not lame is a good thing. And stop pressing it - you would not like a bruise of yours pressed so neither does he. Are you ustill cold hoseing him? and is he on bute?
 
vet didn't want him on bute will ring him up and have a chat about it tomorrow the injury is 2 weeks old now and seems to be getting worse rather than better
 
The healing is probaly delayed cos of the muppets who had him on loan. I can see the point of not putting the ned on bute as this would have covered up any lameness but it does help as an anti inflamatrory.

Will ring the vet tomorrow and see what he has to say anyway he did seem slightly confused as to what the problem was because he said by the state of the injury he should be lame lol
 
My first thought would be damaged tendon sheath.
I would expect a vet to notice this staright away, but seeing as your vet didn't put him on any anti inflammatories(dexadreson is an even poorer painkiller than bute and would have been just the job) I would get a second opinion.
