It's not of any interest to me, but seeing as you've had 90-odd views and nobody responded I just thought I'd wish you luck in your new venture.

On a constructive criticism sort of note, the website doesn't look very professional, so as it stands I think you may struggle to get people to pay you any money. There are spelling and grammatical errors, and far too many exclamation marks. If you are a society then you should refer to "we" rather than "I" throughout. You also need to have some sort of credibility, the site doesn't give a clue who you are, who is going to look after the money, or how there will be accountabilty.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, but I suspect it's why you aren't getting any responses.

Why not PM TheresaF? She shows at county level and may be able to offer some assistance. It does seem to me that you are doing this a bit backwards?

Surely it would be better to get the shows and events up and running with people to take part and then for the qualifiers they have to be a member?
Personally and this is just an observation Cricklands do very very well offering qualifiers to any little poxy show and anyone who is anyone can qualify for the championship which is held at Cricklands and has the ridiculous title of Championships of Great Britain for showjumping, dressage and a pseudo eventing competition. http://www.cricklands.com/Pages/Champs/champs.html

The veteran horse society are others that copy this method. So basically any local show can apply or you can write to them offering qualifiers if they run a traditional cob class (and many do) and then you put together a championship show for the final. From this you will probably get much more interest in your society and can grow it from there and maybe in the long term become more professional and aim for county standard.

You could maybe do a performance class for Dressage, Show jumping and eventing where you could have a really low qualifying criteria such as they need to send a dressage sheet in over 60% and qualify for the championship.

Thankx for the answers so far.
btw the current website is a temporary one I made myself hence its not very good (it may have been built at 2am in the morning lol), got someone currently building a proper one + domain name so that will hopefully be up and running soon.
@ LEC, we are intending to make it so that anyone can enter a qualifier but to be at the finals you have to be a member. I think I just forgot to put that bit on the website, so thanks for the reminder.

If anyone knows anything about the legal/insurance side that would really really help. Have got a friends who know all about that stuff but she's in USA until September, so any help before then will help loads.

I can't spot the spelling this am, and haven't really got time to look, but the grammar on the site is poor. The over-use of exclamation marks makes it look as if it has been created by someone quite young (I'm being polite, you may be quite young...).

To be honest I think you need to put a bit more research in before attempting to launch a society. The legal and insurance issues are something you should have already found out about. You need to visibly be an organisation, not as it is now, an individual. I also suggest that you need a reputable committee so that, when the society is ready to launch, people can be assured that their fees will be properly used, and refunded if the venture doesn't get off the ground.

Website not created by someone young, just someone who may have been lacking sleep at the time :P redoing most of it now x
