Hi Guys!

My 6yo son has the amazing offer to ride a gorgeous pony as often as he wants too.

He has ridden twice and has the most natural seat and balance!

Things I have been doing with him already:
Getting him to put his arms out above his head and round in circles.
Getting him to keep looking up and where he is going - so picking out the letters in the school.

Any ideas to keep it interesting or tips would be much appreciated!! Seems I have forgot what I was taught when I started riding at his age! hahaaha

Lots and lots of time out hacking. Maybe have a 10min session in the school then out for a walk. In the school they seem to live playing games. Particular favourite seemed to be ride to the post that has a mug/hoop (or something else grabable), grab it then ride to the next one to put it back. Then some grooming brushes on a low enough something (we use barrels)so they have to stretch to grab it. You can then say “ grab the dandy brush” or grab the curry comb” so a little more learning. Take brush back and drop it in a bucket. If they miss bucket they have to get off, put it in and get back on. A square of poles, ride into it, halt, count to 5/10 then back out again. And plain old bending poles.
