Hi All,

Just thought i'd share some recent success and ask for suggestions to help canter improve :) Pickle is 22 this year :O he can be stubborn, but has a heart of gold, 4 year olds can ride him despite him being 17.1hh and he looks after my dad (who is a beginner)

We've always struggled with schooling. I've been frustrated at times, as on grass he is a different horse. However this week we seem to have had a break through! He's finally moving forward into the hand, and actually powering from behind. Canter is still very much on the forehand but has a better rhythm than previously (suggestions welcome here)

So whatever people say, old dogs can learn new tricks :)

Pickle today proving the old boys still got it :)

(please excuse dodgy heel and low hands, he has a habit of trying to balance on my hands which I'm working on hence stretchy exercises)

Thanks for looking :)

He looks stronger and more together every time you post photos- he doesn't look his age at all :)

I just love Pickle :) He looks really, really well and I love the third pic down :)

I can offer zero advice as I am useless and can't even ride my own horse, never mind advise others though!

What an amazing looking horse... looks more like a 6yr old than a 22yr old :)

Thank You :) he's decided to act 6 by bucking off my friends beginner boyfriend last week, luckily he bounced haha. Most of the yard didn't believe the story :p not great for your rep to fall off a 22 year horse who's been doing RDA for last 6 months hahaha.

Wow, he looks completely different?! I think I've been a member on this forum for as long as you have (a good few years!) and I've never seen him look so well and going so nicely, huge well done! He certainly doesn't look his age bless him! :)

Thanks so much :) funny how long we've both been on here, I still remember the days of the common room and silly arguments about nothing :)
