Teaching

Weirdly, my understanding is that you do not have to be qualified to teach horse riding but that leaves the problem of insurance - riders/horses would have to insured themselves.

The two best instructors I have had were not BHS qualified.

For your own safety the instructor should have insurance though.

A few people at my yard have asked me to give them lessons and are willing to pay me too!
I just wondered if I need a formal qualification, and/or insurance.

I really enjoy teaching and would like to do some freelance work maybe, and I am willing to do my BHS exams etc if necessary, but if I don't have to all the better!

Can I get insurance without being a qualified instructor?

Cool, thanks

im looking into taking my ABRS (i think thats the one:o) exams for teaching just to earn a bit of extra money as its a qualification and cheaper

SEIB will insure you for teaching without Qualifications. I insured with them prior to doing my PTT. Im now on the BHS register & it's a lot cheaper.

Just get some quotes as if your paying insurance you need to make sure your lessons pay for it & you get a bit of profit.
