Team dressage today for our riding club, with FinnMcCoul and I representing HHO

I haven't taken Twiglet out in a few months and he's only been back in work for a few weeks, so wasn't expecting great things! We were first in, and having survived the warm up - he was brilliant! - we did Prelim 4. Although he was tense, which was to be expected in the vile weather conditions, he behaved beautifully. He was quite forwards in the test, although he didn't relax through his back which obviously lost us marks. He broke in the second canter which earned us a 4

But was mighty pleased with him as he can be a little b*gger to take out and he was superb today.
We got 61.36% and came 4th

Next up was our stablemate Badger with his owner Sophie. She was unlucky enough to be in the outdoor and did a great test despite tension. She 59.09% and came 6th in the team placings.

Took the neds home and raced back in the car to see FinnMcCoul who'd trekked down from Buckinghamshire!
She did a superb test and Finn was a star.......
Tori's 4 loop serpentines leave something to be desired - ie. the 4th loop was about 4 metres! The medium canters were turbo powered and Finn looked at his stunning best.
A good mark and a 5th place for the team.

Then our Super Sub stepped in with a horse she'd offered to bring only this morning!! Again, a great test and a 2nd place earned (beaten only by her other horse!).

So nice quota of rosettes and a well deserved team 5th (out of 13 teams).

Very good day was had by all

Videos to follow tomorrow.

Was a wicked day.

So proud of Finn, he travelled perfectly, didn't hear a peep out of him on the way home! Stood on the lorry for hours and was generally un stressy or TB like.

He managed to self extricate his ear plugs and discard his ear covers, enroute!

He went beautifully, grew about 2hands and powered round. Shame about the muppet rider! Got 64.something%.

Weather was ok and didn't even get wet!

Speak for yourself! I warmed up in the driving rain and wind - was absolutely drenched!

Governer, it was at Woodlands near Epping......nice venue but very deep warm up!

Ooh, I have my first BD there at the end of the month and I was wondering what the venue was like.

Deep warm up is ok, might slow him down a bit before he relaxes into it!

It's deep if it's been wet but is ok otherwise. The indoor is lovely, but with lots of mirrors! Outdoor is nice too.

What date is that?

I've competed at Woodlands before and it was really nice...... good facilities, although a little tight getting transport in there! Lane was and probably still is a little narrow???

Indeed! We drove out today to the tune of Lisa screaming 'WING MIRRORS! CHECK THE WING MIRRORS!'

Parking is run with an iron fist by Mrs Jenner though, she likes to pack everyone in!
