A fab couple of days was had and thank you, thank you, thank you to all the HHOer and "lurkers" who came over to say hello. It was really kind of you and fab to put names to faces.
I am so so sorry I missed some of you but a girl does have to eat and have a pee sometimes! Oh and we got horribly lost on Saturday morning so didn't get there as early as planned (bl**dy SatNav!)

Anyway Bransby had a good weekend money wise and more importantly raising the awareness of the work they do so fingers crossed they'll do it again next year and the man himself can come along too. We did laugh when we saw the horses going down from the Rare Breeds Village for the parades - if the Destroyer had been there chaos would have ensued!!

However the main reason for my post is to once again ask for your opinions.
Over the course of the weekend we got a lot of support from Geoff and Oli, Pippa and William funnel and Lauar and Lucy who signed some Hovis books for us, posed for lots of photos, tried to steal cardboard Hovis and kissed me *blush*.
SO
How should we best use these three books?

Auction then off in plenty of time for people to get them as Christmas presents.

Will h & h put a little piece in the mag directing people to the auction site perhaps? That way can get hovis fans & William/Pippa etc fans all bidding :D

I would go for a raffle. But £1 too cheap - I'd say £2 a ticket.
It was lovely to quickly say 'hi' (I was one that approached having seen the Team Hovis T-Shirts!) and I am halfway through my book already - it's fab

I think a raffle would raise more money that auctioning them off on ebay. I think hundreds of people would buy raffle tickets costing £1 or £2 each as everyone is in with an equal chance of winning.

Echo a raffle- would be prepared to part with more than £1! £2.50 would be reasonable for the ticket- and maybe then some may wish to add a little more on, if they can afford it.

So glad it went well and I hope you sold lots of books :-). I can just imagine the chaos hovis would of caused in the breed display!

My friends talked you about our shire x, think they asked you if hovis had any spacial awareness and you said he was very good with children but not so good with adults. Just like our BFG!!! Berg would of loved YHIA (new name for YHL) he could of plodded from one feed stand to another ;-)

I think do the raffle too for the books, how cool that they gave their support like that. Did they buy any copies??

Raffle is probably the best way to go as others have suggested most people can afford a couple of pounds for a ticket and only a few would be able to to for the significant sums that would be required for an auction, so it means everyone has a chance of getting one of these extra special books.

If I were you I would get Hovis to sign a book himself with a hoof print :D

It was great meeting Hovis's mum and dad on the Saturday....highlight of our day.

For once I am organised and have Christmas cards bought from Bransby stand plus numerous other goodies. So pleased it was worth there while and I wish that YHL would put in-place lower fees for the stalls for those with a charitable status
