I think i can vouch for the whole team and say that we had a fab weekend - the weather was gorgeous (if a little hot at times!!) and i think everyone really enjoyed themselves!!

Got up bright and early saturday morning, plaited and scrubbed and arrived at Sparsholt for 9am. Lucy and I were on at 10am and 10:15, Lucy was our Prelim rider and a friend from my yard, and i was doing the Novices.

Needless to say Archie turned back to his monster ways and was a total arse in the first test, however along with some rather suspect judging (!) we managed to still come 6th, altho our % was crap, the winner only got 61%, plus it was only the warmup test. Then he did me proud in the Team test and altho he still did a couple of huge spooks he came 2nd on 64.56%

I wont go through everyones as il be here all day, but Lucy did a fab little test, came 2nd with 68% and got best U16, then in the Team test she came 2nd again with 67%.

Madam_Max did two lovely tests on the saturday and came 6th (i think!) and 3rd in the Team test (she was doing the other set of Novice tests). Smoothly_Done (who did the elementaries) came 7th in both the team and the warmup tests - due to some idiot *runs off and hides in shame* calling the wrong test!!!! - Luckily it was only the warmup one

We bedded them all down in their stables for the night, and checked and our team was lying joint 2nd over night

Got up early saturday morning to feed, plait up and muck out. Archie was nice and chilled as usual!! (he was falling asleep when i was plaiting him up!)

Did our first test and he was a STAR!! Got 68.92% and came 2nd again - however the judge was leader and trainer to the team that won my class - slightly suspicious if you ask me......Then the last test for him was indoors, it was BOILING hot and he was exhausted, i literally had to boot him around! They didnt hand out results until te end of the day to keep everyone in suspense as to the Team placings! But we got 64% and came 2nd - again!!!!

Then Lucy got 67% and 3rd and then 80.10%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and 3rd again!!!!! So she was chuffed to bits!

M_M got 6th in both hers, i think! and S_D unfortunately got eliminated in the first test as someone forgot to take her overreach boots off - not me for once!! And the judge didnt realise until halfway through the test and she had to be eliminated unfortuately

But she came 7th in the Team test which was good!

At 4:30 we all had to gather, dressed in our hats/jods, for the prizegiving. They started off by giving out the prizes for the best individuals at each level - so this was the top combinations of all 4 tests we'd done at each level.

Lucy came 4th over all which she was chuffed to bits about!

Then Archie monster and i only went and won the individual section (as we had the highest placings overall because of his 3 2nds and 6th)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im SO pleased with him!! He was a total star, even tho our first test was a bit hit and miss!!

And to make it even better, our team came 2nd!!!!!

So i just want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone for coming, and i hope you all enjoyed it! Also thanx to everyone who came and supported us, it was a fab weekend

Well done, what a good set of results!
I missed your 2 tests on the saturday but saw most of your first test on Sunday which looked super.

Having had a nice surprise by winning the team N36 test on the saturday with just under 67% my horse won pleb of the century award on the Sunday.

He decided to spook coming out of the lorry, went to launch left off the top of the ramp, left a back leg and flipped himself onto the concrete

Despite trying to convince myself he would be okay, unfortunately he wasn't so we had to withdraw from the last 2 tests.
A visit from the vet and physio in order this week!

Brilliant results! Well done to all of you.

Have to say it doesn't seem right that you can have a judge that is team leader/trainer to one of the teams. She was probably completely unbiased but it does leave herself open to suspicion.

YAY sounds like you all had a fab weekend. Well done to the Archie Monster

. Shall be looking forward to pictures!

Hope Ben and Jerrys horse is ok soon.

Dont think im going to do Addington - hopefully il be going to the Elementary Areas on the tuesday of that week, and ive got the Novice Championship at Hickstead on 8th Sept. Need to get in some training too.

Some unaffliated thing ive qualified for - not quite sure how i did as ive only competed at Hickstead once and it says you have to get over 15pts in the classes to qualify, which i havent......The final 'qualifier' is on 18th, but they have already sent me an entry form saying ive qualified! Dont have to enter until the end of August tho.

ive got a YH class this weekend, and the final of that is on the same date as the final of the Hickstead thingy - so if i dont qualify for the YH then il do Hickstead.

i doubt he'l get through in the YH anyways, as the test is a bit much for him at the momen, im just doing it for some experience more than anything - and a nosey at other horses his age!!!

Oh wow!!! Huge well done to you all!!!

You must be over the moon with Mr Archie - he really does seem to be going from strength to strength and is such a huge credit to you
