My horse has been practicing with his grazing muzzle for the past three days approx. 4-5 hours in the long grass per day.
Well today when I arrived back at his field, I discovered his technique.
First he paws the grass with alternate front hooves until he has broken off the grass and balled it into the equivalent of a small pile then hie dunks nose with grazing muzzle into the pile and practically "hoovers" the long strands up through the hole, very fast and very effective.
There were 4 poos in 5 hours so I think plenty was passing through the guts! - and I thought he was a bit dense as he wasn't doing it the way I seen all the other horses at our yard do it, but I guess its works for him!
Anyone else have a horse that does this - or is mine unique?
