I do not remember this with the Corgis!!

Tia is now 8 months and having her first season. She's suddenly terrified of everything (we used to have trouble keeping her away from people, now she cowers even from people she's known all her life) and recall is suddenly hit and miss

Please tell me it gets easier again?!

This is usualy when people get rid from this age until they are about 2yrs old. You also have to bear in mind her breed, the Corgis are herders and have a different mind-set from Tia.

It will get better, hang on in there, keep your established bounderies and dont succumb to the poor me Im frightened of everything behaviour.

Tia is not looking impressed by her bath but she is looking good and Im sure you are doing a great job.

Another saying hang in there! My older dog was a lovely puppy then turned into a horror at about 9 months. I would have given him away any day! Then, at about 16 months he snapped back to being an nice dog almost over night. :)

Re coming into season, I've no experience with dogs as mine have always been spayed asap, but with horses the onset of puberty can hit some fillies very hard, wheras others hardly seem to notice. I'm sure if you're patient she will sort herself out.

As soon as this season is over shes being spayed! Vet wouldnt do it before. Will stick with it. I dont react to the scared thing but oh can sometimes so have to keep nagging him lol.

Am just not letting her off the long line, keeping up with training etc and she is managing to keep it under control a bit more.

When shes good shes amazing and I wouldnt swap her or get rid just need to vent, the girls at work think Im bonkers!

You could also give a Thundershirt a try for the anxiety. Stan's teenage phase took the form of being an ass so high value treats and lots of exercise helped him, but Mavis had a lot of anxiety issues from her bad start so was a lot more fragile. The shirt didn't magically cure her but it definitely helped in situations where we knew she was going to be exposed to stress, like visiting other people's houses, going to the vet etc.

My 8mth Beddyxwhippet Sasha has just finished her first season, somedays she was a nightmare others very clingly & wanting to be near me all the time. Took 4 weeks from start to finish, thankfully she's back to her usual self & will be visiting vet after Christmas
