i would say a bit of both! has he started covering yet? we have a ten year old stallion at work who has a little paddy when hes being led out to his field, usually when he goes past the other stallions box (the other stallion was PTS earlier this year) he just bounces up and down a bit, i just put it down to him being a stallion and full of hormones and try to ignore it! we also have a three year old colt (who has not started covering yet) but can still be a bit of a handful and has a tendancy to rear and barge into you-the solution? we always wear a hat when leading him (mostly to give us more confidence with him) also lead him with a lunge line, and a lead rope attached to the other side of his head collar so if he does push his shoulder into you, you can pull him back away from you if that makes sense? i think its more important with him to make sure he does as hes told with him being so young! not sure if this is any help to you though!?
