hi,
is there anywhere in the uk a capable teen can hire a horse on site and utilize a farm ride/x-country facility.
thanks.

Sorry if this sounds blunt but no, we are in lockdown. Riding schools have closed, full livery yards aren’t allowing clients to visit their horses, XC courses have closed, fun rides have been cancelled as has polo and quite honestly anyone wanting to go XC with their own horse at the moment needs their head testing let alone a teenager who doesn’t have a horse. The NHS is under enough strain without people falling off and hurting themselves.

thankyou.I am of course looking beyond the current lockdown with a view to summer.thankyou for your time.

In fairness - one is in the regional board. OP once all this is over - try looking at large riding centers that run exams for BHS stage 3 ride. Going XC is part of that exam and they will hire horses. It won't be a full course but it will be something. I doubt you will be doing it this year though.

thankyou for your thoughtfull and informative response.

Where are you? I know a place in Kent that has schoolmasters for dressage certainly, not so sure about cross country, and they don't have their own cross country but I expect there is one close.
