my 14 year old daughter has had a 14.3 on loan for just under 2 years but has constantly kept growing. we have talked about her out growing her but had a lesson today and instructor confirmed my fears that in size and ability the pony is becoming outgrown.have no worries about her going back at poss end of summer as loanee is lovley. if we are looking at 15-15.2 middlewight mare, all rounder thats done a bit of every thing,pc etc and is safe and sensible that we could both ride, how much realistically are we looking at.many thanks

Depends how high a level of 'everything' you want to do? If its is local unaffiliated, 2'9 ish SJ, some prelim/novice dressage etc....I'd guess about £3k?

If wanting to do a bit more eg maybe low level affiliated/PC teams, maybe up to £5k? I would value my horse at £5k or thereabouts and he is established at 3'0 to 3'3 SJ, XC, novice dressage, quite capable of going around an Intro maybe a PN......

I might be miles off though, been years since I bought a horse!!

local level ,pony club, and unaffiliated shows. and general fun and games hacking with daughter and dressage with me.no huge ambitions at present.why do children grow?

Shame she's not a bit smaller as I might be selling my 15hh mare at the end of summer, who will have done a bit of everything. I *think* I am going to try putting her on at £3.5- £4k depending on how things go over the summer.

hi 15hh would be fine .at the moment her 14.3 pony is very fine and looks smaller a more substantial build would be ok as she is about 8 stone and 5 foot 3.keep me posted as we plan to keep her over the summer and particularly want a mare.
