Teeth?

Had my vet out for injections yesterday and had teeth checked at the same time. I always have vet do them incase they need sedating. Gypsy had his teeth done in May and only needed one doing yesterday. Hattie however, didn't need her teeth doing in May, nor did she need them doing yesterday. I have had Hattie since August last year and they told as they had her teeth done before she went on sale, so she has gone 17 months without needed them doing. Any one know why?
 
I have a dentist out for mine every 6months (when the rest of the yard is done) and she is normally the only one on the yard who needs little to nothing done. I have assumed that this is because she has a good mouth (thus teeth meet evenly) and she has a high fibre diet, so eat most of the day and has to grind her food thoroughly. She also has her hay off the floor which I think helps as she is eating as nature intended!!!
 
Both of mine are on an all fibre diet and have there hay on the floor. I guess she has a good bite and wears her teeth down herself.
 
Yeah, I recently had my 18 year old mare's teeth checked for the first time, and she had no problems at all because she is out 24/7. It's amazing the problems that a natural lifestyle helps avoid!
 
Some people naturally have good teeth whilst others do not. High sugar diets cause decay Ive got loads of fillings. Your horse must have naturally have good teeth and a good diet. A highly inbred horse,with poor diet, stable kept with lack of fibre will probably have very sharp teeth!
