My horse fractured 211 which was discovered on a routine dental examination.
He was referred to the weiper's centre and it was found the pulp cavity and nerve had disappeared and the tooth was in 3 parts on x-ray.
The only way the tooth could be removed was the hard way, through the bone under his eye. A trap door was made in the bone and the tooth knocked out!
This was 2 weeks ago and he is finding haylage challenging still.
I feel terrible that I didnt notice it, but my horse didnt show any signs and he must have been in terrible pain.
Just to say really, have regular dental check ups for your horse.
