Pony seems to be really going through it atm with her teeth

She's 2yrs and 4 months, and doing my head in with putting everything in her mouth atm!
It's started in the last 3/4 days; buckets, bucket handles, leadropes, doors, rugs, brushes, the equi-tye that she ties up to seems to be a favourite presumably because it's soft and 'chewy,' and now she's decided the metal work on my w/chair is fair game

and managed to cut her gum tonight when I wasn't paying attention for 2 seconds.

Her incisors don't seem to be loose, and her mouth's a bit too small for me to delve back much further! I'm going to call the dentist tomorrow but any suggestions for making her more comfortable? She's eating ok so it can't be that bad, but she's obviously uncomfortable.

Weren't you uncomfortable when you changed your baby teeth? I'll bet you kept your parents up all night. This is natural, be glad she is eating, some of them stop.

Perfectly natural, lovely. She'll grow out of it

Find a nice bit of ash to pop in her stable for her to chew on....

.

Mine's going through the same stage. She's really lumpy under her jaw and is quidding a bit when she eats. Don't worry about it too much. It's just a stage they have to go through. Just as long as she's eating and keeping on her condition, I'd not worry unduly.

Mines 2yrs 6 months and exactly the same. chewing everything. He's lost 2 front teeth and was very uncomfortable for a while. The vet checked them and said all was fine.

I am sure she will be ok, the dentist can take the caps out for her to get the pain over an done with quickly! (providing they are movable)

between 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 is the time that she changes her teeth and at 2 1/2 expect her to change 8 teeth; 4 central incisors and 4 pre molars

Thanks all, I've not had one been this bad before. A bit of mouthing yes, but she's really, really going for it!
I'll ring the dentist and stop worrying

Ditto about the ash though?

Oh you mean ash TREE !!!!!

I thought you meant "ash" like "burnt stuff" ! You see it on feed bag labels (they add it for the phosphate, I think) so I thought you were saying put a pile of ash in the stable.

:-)
